Curious Objects Week 7 - 20/10/14

I decided to show my Dad's book 'The Calligraphy Source Book', I thought that this book could maybe used in Graphics because it reminds me a lot about Typography. I would love to try and copy some of these in my spare time.

Room Lecture With Jane - Discussion - 17.10.14

We were put into groups of three for this lesson delivered by Jane. We were given 3 words which was History, Society and Culture and we had to relate what we had learnt from our previous lecture under each 3 words. 

Curious Objects Week 6 - 13.10.14

This is from my first performance I did at the Bridgewater Hall in June 2011 with Singlive. 

This is the programme that I decided to keep, I really like this book because it has lots of different typefaces on each page, it has interesting imagery on the front of the book and that is what draws me to want to buy such a memorable item.

Lecture 2 - Critical Review - By Hannah Greatorex - 10.10.14

The lecture delivered by Gary on the 10th   October was about Abstract Expressionism. They worked with arbitrary colours aswell as jarring compositions, they focused on capturing wild emotional reactions and captured emotions and subjective interpretations. 

On the other hand the post impressionists rejected impressionists concern with the spontaneous and naturalistic rendering of colour. 

Kandinsky would take expressionism a step further and developed abstract paintings which uses simple shapes and colour. 

The whole lecture was carefully structured and kept me focused from beginning to end.

Black and White Cornerhouse Posters 8.10.14

Had to select 4 of my cornerhouse posters that i liked, after that I recreated them in InDesign at A2 size on Monday I am going to add some colour to my posters.

Jim Williams lecture 7.10.14

Jim Williams who wrote the amazing book Type Matters gave us a really interesting lecture. Just want to say Jim thank you so much for coming and speaking to us. We all had fun!
