The Great Graphics Cake Off!

This is a finished version of our cake I made with Becci. It included 6 sections of different kinds of chocolate on top with a Ferrero Rocher centre. Inside is a Victoria Sponge cake with a strawberry jam and butter cream filling.

Explosion Poster 3

I got two different versions of explosions and I doctored them by adding two different effects.

I feel like they both standout when being viewed.

This was originally an image of an explosion that I found on the web. I then saved the image and opened it in Illustrator and applied the effect which is called "graphics pen ." I brightened the text by choosing a brighter red so it stood out from the background. I feel like this is effective..

Explosion Poster 1

I edited the explosion image into Photoshop by using an effect called "invert" this option turns the current image into negative, I feel like this particular image is vibrant, effective, bold and it really stands out. The red text stands out more when it is placed on a grey or black background. I am going to crop the image and get rid of the pole which looks out of place when the poster is being viewed.

Gun Poster Idea

I decided to incorporate a gun shot by adding an effect called "many clouds" and this can be found in the effects menu in Illustrator. I thought about words connected to devastation and the other two words I thought of were destruction and devastation, I felt that these three words went well together.
I added the words as well Notice,Check, Share at the end just because the Stockport Council might like to use them.

Practice book What Life book

Our concept of our book was to create something that can have a game concept and be a book at the same time! To get past some of the pages in our book you have to roll a dice! We also wanted to make it fun! 

Primary Research

I went to Waterstones with my group to do some primary research to get a broader idea about multiple universes.

After looking all over I came across a book by the amazing genius Stephen Hawking! His book explains more in greater depth! I thought the information was interesting and really related to what me and my group were thinking of doing for our final outcome! 

23.8.15 - Creative Review Influences

I was looking through the creative review and I found two letter forms that stoodout to me. One includes lots of colour which runs throughout the text whilst the other has a continuous two colour scheme. The text fonts are interesting and the way the letters are formed in each line of text real stands out to whoever comes to view it.

Milton Glaser I Love NY Symbol

Milton started off with just a red crayon whilst he was thinking how he was going to pursue and make this look simple but professional. After doing so many different sketches he finally came up with a simple professional looking symbol.

This symbol did so well that it ended up being one of his best pieces of works. This particular  piece of work then became so well know that it was printed on shoes, bags, t-shirts and different mediums too.

Milton Glaser

I like the medium and the typography forms that are used in this particular piece of artwork! The drawn forms that are included also in this piece standout to whoever comes to view it!

This is an Offset Lithograph that Milton did! I find this piece of work interesting, colourful, unusual. It includes some interesting forms of type on this advertising piece of work and this type of medium stands out.

Experimenting plays a very important key role in graphic design! These images that I found in the eye magazine have been placed on different backgrounds which is very interesting and it makes most of the imagery standout!

Symbols are another facinating medium because some are symbolic, some have different kinds of imagery including figues, objects, letter forms etc!

I feel that bold letter forms standout and are a very interesting form of graphic design!

My 2nd influence is different types of typography!

Typography is full of different typefaces! It also includes flicks and swirls at the end of each letter too! I feel that typography is a very interesting format to use when creating pieces of art!

I love how each letter has been produced! I like how the colours merge together. I think this is a beautiful piece of work!

I decided to order some of my own business cards and magnets with my logo on them. My business cards also contain my blog address on the back, so you will be able to view my current work and influences.
